The Smile from Nepal – A Project of Nepali Children Adoption

The project description:

The Smile from Nepal is a project aimed to support children in Nepal on the principle of the so-called „long-distance adoption“. People from the Czech Republic pay school education of children they have chosen, thus becoming their „adoptive parents“.

Why we find it a good idea:

It enables access to education to the poorest children who would not be able to afford it otherwise. It averts their otherwise inevitable fate of becoming children of the street and gives them a chance to live a better life and an ability to take care of themselves as well as the members of their family once they grow up.
